 The One Piece manga is initially published as a serial in the anthology magazine Weekly Shonen Jump. As the magazine's name suggests, a new issue of Jump (and thus a new chapter of One Piece) is released on a weekly basis. Accounting for the magazine's holiday breaks and Eiichiro Oda's personal hiatuses, approximately 45-48 chapters are published per year.

The English edition of the One Piece manga is published by Viz Media in North America. This began in 2003 with a weekly 10-chapter release of the first two arcs, East Blue and Alabasta. Since then, Viz has been reprinting each new arc into two three-volume Uniform Editions. The first three volumes in each collection are printed in an "Animerica Extra" layout like the other Shonen Jump series, while the fourth volume is printed in a larger, standard US trade format. They also include color versions of the covers for all four volumes within the set. Each set is released eight months after finishing serialization (about one year after publication of its last volume).
